Who is the IOSH Working Safely Course For?

This course is a basic introduction for all levels of personnel who are non-health & safety experts.

Learning Outcomes

  • Carry out work activities without risk to themselves or others and understand the consequences to both the individual and their organisation if they fail to work safely.
  • Identify hazards, risks and risks controls and understand the importance of risk assessment with examples of everyday use of risk assessment.
  • Understand how to take appropriate workplace precautions and their importance in the working environment.
  • Appreciate the importance of a health & safety management system.
  • Identify lines of communication with respect to health & safety in their place of work.
  • Identify safety signs and signals.
  • Understand emergency, accident plans and procedures and how and who to report accidents, incidents and near misses to, in their place of work.
  • Recognise how industry affects the environment and how individuals can minimise pollution and waste.

Certification

On successful completion of the IOSH Working Safely course you will receive an IOSH accredited Certificate or IOSH Safety Passport

Who is the IOSH Managing Safely Course is For?

Managing Safely is for non-health & safety expert personnel who have to manage risk & resources.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply basic management principles & practices to safety & health issues as part of a total management strategy.
  • Set achievable safety & health objectives & plan & implement courses of action to achieve those objectives.
  • Recognise safety & health hazards present in the workplace.
  • Carry out & record basic assessments of the risks associated with workplace hazards, & recommend suitable control measures.
  • Take account of risks arising from ergonomic factors.
  • Ensure that adequate information, training & supervision is provided for employees.
  • Investigate an accident or incident involving injury or damage to determine the causes & take appropriate actions.

Certification

On successful completion of a short answer test & a practical assessment in the workplace the delegate will receive an IOSH accredited certificate.
