Dear Ando,
Thankyou for answering my question, now is it possible to do CS3 without doing the previous CS1 & CS2 courses or do you have to progress through the training and courses to attain the CS3 qualification ?
I currently have a CS1 qualification at the moment, which i gained over 12 months ago, and I now wish to progress to a higher level to develop my skills as a Rescue Paramedic, can REMS provide the necessary training course to enable me to attain the CS3.
I also have a couple of Paramedic collegues who wish to partake and gain some CS qualifications, could you please advise.
Yours

Hi Stubbsie,
Glad you found my reply helpful.

As with most specialised formats of training, progression should be by a series of steps building on previous training and field experience.
Progression would follow CS1, building with CS2 refresh of CS1 with the addition of Breathing apparatus in addition to escape sets covered in CS1 and more complex entries.
Time spent in confined space working environments will build the application of CS1 CS2 knowledge.
With this practical experience you can then add the various elements of medical practice and its application in this environment, the planning and management aspect. Most importantly are the dynamics of working within a team and integration with external agencies.
As you are a Paramedic, if you are familiar with courses such as PHTLS (pre-hospital trauma life support) you will grasp the amount of time and effort required to create and maintain a viable team and its skill set.

In term of ongoing training I would suggest you contact forum member Wocker (or hopefully he will pickup on this thread) as he is the lead at REMS for training.

Regards
